Wiley and the Hairyman
Wiley and the Hairy Man centers around a young fatherless boy, his conjure-woman mother, his faithful dog, and the Hairy Man who haunts Wiley's days and dreams.
For this play I wanted to explore the shadows of the swamp, the shadow that the Hairyman projects onto the people who live in the swamp and the shadow of magic. this manifested itself into a shadow play. We approached the design for the play drawing from our experiences in creating Balinese styled shadow puppet shows in the past.
