In the LBCC version of the British musical “Blood Brothers,” the so-called “fourth wall” of theater is broken down with a sledgehammer. The actors change costume in plain sight. Lighting fixtures and dangling microphones, usually hidden by curtains, are all exposed. And musical director James Reddan and his four-member band are the first and last people seen on stage.

“We don’t hide the fact that we’re in the theater. We’re not magically transporting ourselves to another place,” Stone said. “What’s important to us now are the actors and musicians telling us the story.”
